Since the inception of the Built Green Santa Barbara program, funding and substantial contributions of time have been provided by the Santa Barbara Contractors Association (SBCA). As the Built Green Program moves forward from development to implementation, to maintenance, its funding sources will necessarily evolve. The SBCA will continue to provide a basic budget and dedicated staff time, and a small amount of funding will come from program participants’ fees. The experience of other green building programs around the nation indicates, however, that to grow and sustain an effective program, additional funding must be sought.
