Internships

Seeking committed, bright, and dependable intern(s) for Built Green Santa Barbara, a program of the Santa Barbara Contractors Association Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Built Green Santa Barbara is a voluntary environmental building program that distinguishes and promotes resource efficient development, design, and construction. Green building practices go beyond energy and water conservation to incorporate environmentally sensitive site planning, resource efficient building materials and superior indoor air environmental quality.

Located in the Built Green Resource Center, a remodeled green historic building located downtown Santa Barbara, the program demonstrates that green is practical, rewarding, and the right thing to do.

Interns will work closely with Kathleen O’Brien, Built Green’s Program Director, a nationally respected expert on green building and sustainability, on a variety of tasks including:

·         Maintaining and updating program materials to ensure timeliness and accuracy;
·         Converting program to a web-based platform to improve service and expand its breath;
·         Providing support to Built Green Technical Committee and Advisory Council;
·         Providing support for grant applications;
·         And more, depending on opportunity and aptitude.

With Built Green Santa Barbara transitioning from an all-volunteer organization to a staffed organization, this is prime time to get experience in organizational development, while applying what you know about green building and sustainable development. Please do not apply if you do not have education or experience in the field of green building.
